- About Well
-
- Well Barn faces due south, getting the sun all
day long. The Walled Garden is a sun trap, a protected area to
relax in. It is set into the landscape overlooking the Dart Valley
with its gentle rolling hills and hedgerow bounded fields. It
is in the South Hams an area of outstanding natural beauty.
-
- WELL may be traced back as a settlement for more than
700 years. In 1281 it was in the ownership of Benedictus atte
Well. Nearby is WASH, which today, is well known as the
headquarters of Riverford Organic Farm.
-
- There are several gentle walks
in the immediate area where you may stroll and enjoy the landscape,
the sound of birds and the wild flowers and grasses in the hedgerows.
